Holy Week 2024

March 24 to 31

Palm Sunday (with Holy Communion)

Begin your Holy Week journey on Sunday, March 24. Services take place at 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM. Together we listen to the story of God's love for all the world, and with hope, we take our place in it.

Both services include the blessing of palms and the reading of the Passion Gospel (Mark 14:1-15:47).

Maundy Thursday (Foot Washing with Holy Communion)

Maundy Thursday gets its name from the Latin word "mandatum," meaning commandment. On this holy evening, we remember the command Jesus gave to "love one another." Emmanuel Episcopal Church, First Presbyterian of Petoskey, and Cross of Christ Lutheran invite you to join in worship at 6:00 PM on March 28. Location: Emmanuel Episcopal Church of Petoskey, 1020 E Mitchell

Good Friday (Community Service at First Presbyterian of Petoskey)

On the solemn day of Good Friday, pray for healing and wholeness in our lives and in the world. Receive the gift of divine mercy, and prepare your heart for the celebration of love’s redeeming power. Good Friday worship begins at Noon on March 29. Location: First Presbyterian of Petoskey, 501 E Mitchell

Easter (with Holy Communion)

Alleluia! God's love cannot be defeated or destroyed. Join Emmanuel Episcopal Church-Petoskey, Michigan in the celebration of love's power to heal and redeem us, and to make all things new. Easter services take place at 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM on March 31. The 10:00 AM service will include festive choral music, brass, and timpani. Children are invited to participate in an Easter egg hunt following the 10:00 AM service.
