Vestry Committees

Facilities- Addresses repairs and ongoing building maintenance

Finance- Provides recommendations to the Vestry related to budget and finances

Member Involvement (Gather & Grow)- Plans parish activities to strengthen fellowship

Memorials- Maintains history of memorial gifts and discerns expenditures

Nominations- Two representatives, elected by the Annual Meeting to recruit candidates for Vestry

Outreach- Discerns how parish funds may support our neighbors

Pastoral Care- Offers practical care & support for members of EEC

Stewardship- Invite the parish to celebrate God’s generosity and share in the mission and ministry of EEC

Worship & Liturgy- Works with Rector to plan holy days and special occasions for worship

 

Activities

Acolytes- Youth or adult torcher bearers and crucifiers (carry cross in procession)

Altar Guild- Behind the scenes preparation for worship, including setting altar

AV Producers- Use parish tablet to livestream worship

Bible Study with Nativity, Boyne City- Shared Bible study via Zoom on Wednesdays at 7:00 PM

Book Club- Monthly gathering to read and share conversation

Choir- Provides musical leadership from September to early June

Coffee Hour Hosts- Make coffee and provide simple snacks for fellowship after worship

Eucharistic Ministers- Assist at the altar

Godly Play & Sunday School- Teachers who nurture youth spiritual formation

Greeter/Usher- Offer the ministry of hospitality during morning worship

Holy Cows Softball- Fun fellowship on Friday evenings in the summer

Holy Cows Ski- Fun fellowship in the winter months

Lay Weeders- Water and weed the gardens at EEC

Lector- Sunday morning readers

Men’s breakfast group (Mighty Men of Emmanuel)- Meet Thursday at 8:30 AM for breakfast at Bistro

Office Volunteers- Staple and fold Sunday bulletins, answer phone when Office Manager is on vacation

Plate Coordinator- Count donations collected on Sunday mornings

Prayer Chain- Receive prayer requests via email

Prayer Shawl Ministry- Knit prayer shawls as symbols of love, care, and support

Soul Food Gardeners- Water and weed the community garden that provides food for our neighbors

Thursday Lunch Servers- Make and serve meals at 1st Presbyterian Church

Writer’s Group- Engage in writing prompts and conversation twice monthly

Women’s Gathering- A contemplative group meeting on Friday mornings via Zoom

Youth Group Support- Leadership for Middle School activities and formation
